It's hardly possible to describe how beautiful it is in the Engadine. The unique 'Valley of Light', as it is sometimes called, has much to offer for every taste. In June, the Alpine spring brings forth oceans of wild flowers to delight the eye and the soul. The brooks are alive and chattering with the melt water from the glaciers.

Wander or cycle through the valleys of the Engadine and rediscover Nature's awakening.

The summer is ideal for all sorts of sporting activity. The Engadine has a well developed network of walking and hiking trails with a total length of 500km. Hardly a wish remains that can't be fulfilled.

Whether you want to make it to the top of a mountain peak, discover the secrets of some lonely valley, or simply follow the Via Engiadina which leads from Maloja to Scuol: Every path is an experience in itself and offers wonderful mountain views.

Of course, there is a well thought-through mountain bike network as well, so many valleys and alpine pastures can be reached on two wheels.

The lakes offer many further diversions, from kite surfing to diving.

In the autumn the light takes on a golden hue and the woods are tinted with a thousand shades of brown and yellow. The air is crystal clear and the atmosphere simply stunning. You can join a guided walk to observe wild animals - marmots, deer and steinbock (Alpine ibex) can often be seen.

It goes without saying that the Engadine has a wide range of cultural attractions. In Pontresina you can visit the 'Alpschaukäserei' (Alpine show dairy) and throughout the valley there are art galleries with varying exhibitions as well as some museums, e.g the Museum Alpin in Pontresina, the Segantini Museum and the Mili Weber Haus in St. Moritz and the Kaffee Museum in Zuoz. There are also major sporting events such as the Engadine Ski Marathon or the windsurfing event Engadin Wind to add excitement and entertainment value.
