Dear Guests of Ristorante “Nostra Pizzeria”
Welcome to our Ristorante “Nostra Pizzeria”. You are within the old walls of a former farm which dates back to 1712. The thickness of the masonry is evidence of this hotel’s long history. When the Hissung family took over the hotel in 1998, Hotel Engadinerhof had no restaurant open to the public. From the outset, they wanted to revive Pontresina’s restaurant scene with a new restaurant. The plaster was, however, crumbling in quite a few other places in this old hotel and many renovations had to be dealt with before a restaurant could be contemplated. For 20 years, Mrs. Elisabeth Schäfli from Pontresina used this space as a handicrafts shop. When she entered her well-earned retirement in April 2003, we took the opportunity to convert the building. What you now have before you is the result of a dream that has been forged over many years. The Ristorante Nostra Pizzeria was created in less than eight months. We sought out suitable materials for the different rooms and employed craftsmen to carry out the work. We took a great deal of pleasure selecting furniture, buying tableware and choosing the decor. The owners imagined a comfortable and appealing restaurant where guests can feel at ease and will want to return time and again. AWe celebrated the opening on 3rd December 2003. Quality is our top priority. Our meals are therefore always freshly prepared, which requires a certain amount of time. We therefore ask you to be a bit patient!
