2024
Host couple Nina Lang Esche and Pascal Esche make a successful start to the winter season

2024  

A group of family & friends established Engadinerhof AG to purchase the hotel and invest further in its infrastructure and modernization.

 

Let's travel back to another century...
To the beginnings of the former host families J.Heinrich and Hissung.

1998
Bertram and Corina Hissung buy the Engadinerhof

1998
Garages and building land opposite are sold.

1998
The staff house (Chess Sulai) is sold.

1990
In the north wing, 15 rooms are renovated, including the bathrooms, and part of the façade is replastered.

1980

Jürg Heinrich dies at the age of 40 and his wife Elisabeth Heinrich takes over the business.

1970

Jürg Heinrich, Christian Heinrich's eldest son, takes over the business

 

1958-1960
The last major extensions:
- Kitchen extension for the dining room
- Extension of the lobby hall to add a dance floor for events
- New Entrance

1937-1938
Garages are built on the property opposite of the hotel, as cars are permitted in the canton of Graubünden starting in 1925 and more and more guests begin arriving by car.

1928
Christian Heinrich, Peter Fopp's eldest grandson, enters the hotel business at the age of 18.

120 years ago: The beginnings of a hotel for families by families. 

1926
The carpentry shop is moved offsite into the Diavolezza building. Today it is the Schwab carpentry shop in Pontresina.

1905
The Hotel Engadinerhof is built. The old farmhouse and the carpenter's workshop are joined together, 2 floors are added, and the front part (today's hall) is built in front of the current entrance to the dining room. Interestingly, the carpentry workshop is still in operation.

1887
Johann Peter Fopp buys the farmhouse (today's part with the pizzeria), which dates back to 1712. It is used as a residence and small guesthouse. Today's dining room was once a carpenter's workshop.

1856
Johann Peter Fopp is born in Davos.
